Re: Carson's Long War (X-COM: EW / LW vignettes)

Do you want a trooper in my lineup? If so, just let me know what class! Currently there are no named: Gunners, Infantry, Snipers, Engineers or Medics. Why not! I currently have a soft spot for gunners. Might have to do with the neverending reaction shots, though. [quote=""Ferrard Carson"] Yeah, I'm...

Re: Carson's Long War (X-COM: EW / LW vignettes)

Even though I do like the videos, amazing narrating skills as always, Ferrard! I don't know if you mentionned it already, but if you did, I missed it, what level do you play on? Obviously, as I'm an idiot, I launched my first LW campaign on Classic. I'm a fair bit further in (November now, IIRC), an...

Re: V+ Mod Pack Additions & Changes

Oh, yeah, forgot about Emita. Very nice map indeed, and a good alternative to Fallujah. Runs quite well too, for me it's better than Chernarus around Chernogorsk.

Re: V+ Mod Pack Additions & Changes

Wouldn't recommend ACR lite as it messes up vegetation on Chernarus (giving AI the ability to see through it). Dslyexci did release a (beta) vanilla version of his Littlebird enhancement (which in turn can easily be used to shoot from various vehicles by using the animations provided in the mod). FA...

Re: Flying the kites of old

Not that we had much success with CLOD yet, but I figured I'd post this here anyway for those that might be interested and missed it: Team Fusion has since released a new version of their unofficial patch . It's pretty damn good, even by the standards of the previous one which was awesome. Cliffs of...

Re: What are your top tips for new mission makers?

And there was another point that I wanted to make and forgot about: make sure that the experience is compelling for everyone . One easy example is for chopper pilots. I mean, I know chopper insertions look cool, and AI-flown aircrafts are ugly. But if the chopper crew is basically useless outside of...

Re: What are your top tips for new mission makers?

I second that "meatgrinder" statement as well. Keep in my mind that making that "good" mission is also a matter of luck. As you said, testing all that, by yourself or with a couple volunteers, can't really give you any idea about how this will turn out during a session. Don't be afraid of having to ...

Re: [Tue] 28 Jan 2014 (Look Before You Leap)

Charging forward in a glorious fashion, I ran clear past one Russkie hiding in a bush, who in great alarm fired wildly at my retreating feet, missing them and allowing me to loop around into a building. Spraying a wild and inaccurate burst of fire at another borscht-eating invader, I was then promp...
