We completely fubar'd the convoy and I think we got flanked in the same way as before too - except I was MAT last time and camping in the hills to the East, I wasn't aware foot patrols would come at us from behind - as well as not recognising them from friendlies (that's a fault of my own). The range of the 343's didn't cover the scout positions, but was just enough to get a message to command.
I was an effective trigger man, but as soon as my team were gunned down from behind, I tried to help then hesitated when an enemy casually walked past me, then shot me as I was trying to work out if he was an enemy!

Started the mission by asking for permission to ambush the assaulting team as the approached the building, but
Draakon set me straight by reminding me of the mission notes
So I came back inside the building. The hostage was talking a lot, on shout at a guess to give away his position. The aim on my crappy AK? gun couldn't hit a thing and close quarters, so I died pretty easily, even though I was originally in a good spot to monitor the hostage.

We moved south, some good covering, encountered some light forces and grabbing their gear, the helo pilot took a while to find a place to set down, even injuring some players
. Unfortunately, as he landed the enemy were already on top of us, so it was pretty much every man for himself - we decided to move to the rail tracks to pick up some non-injured players but we took more casualties ending up with just 3 of us alive in the helo. I survived, I have trouble sleeping at night, I still see the faces of my fallen comrades when I close my eyes *sniff*.

We set up on a flat-ish hill with no clear view of the road we were tasked to start the assault. Unfortunately, the convoy was at that point quickly and we didn't have time to re-position. That meant engaging about 3-4 strikers in open ground, I got mashed up within 0.00243 seconds.

This was the mission where I was victim of some awesome flanking maneuvers. The OPFOR team were well set-up and must have spotted us early on to get their second group to flank our position - were were all gutted on the hill. I wasn't even injured, insta-head shot

I wanted to climb the tower to snipe/spot them - I did have night vision at the start, so I thought this was possible - but the lack of action to climb the tower and my night vision being taken from me half way through meant that wasn't an option.
I was then ordered to guard the hostage (
Cam). I was quite harsh with him, in the end, he tried coaxing me out into the open, but I explicitly told him to stay by the door and at the same time,
Draakon was telling me that BLUFOR doesn't care for the welfare of the hostage - so, as
Cam ran away from the doorway for the second time, I opened up on him and left him bleeding out on the ledge. Harsh, Harsh, Harsh - the banter was fun.
