Now there are a few of us ...

Comrades,

Thanks to your participation, the Folk sessions are experiencing great playercounts. High numbers have never been our primary objective, but having 40+ guests makes it possible for us to play a wide variety of missions and mission types. The hosts hope you are enjoying this opportunity as much as them.

However, higher playercounts can magnify some issues such that they begin to impact the session. Thankfully, nothing has yet become severe, but we'd really value your help with certain 'borderline' issues:
  • Please ensure you have TeamSpeak CC configured. You may not plan to take senior leadership slots, but battlefield promotions happen often in Folk. If you find yourself with a squad, those guests are depending on you.
  • Please be sensible about banter on VON and TeamSpeak mid-mission. Too much noise makes it very hard for FTLs and SLs, discouraging guests from taking those roles. We don't need to be silent, just considerate. You might want to refresh yourself on how comms work in a Folk platoon.
  • SLs, FTLs and attachment leaders, please acknowledge orders. Simply saying 'Charlie copies' makes the CO/DC/SL's job so much easier, and we really want to encourage guests to experience those roles. Help us make being CO less terrifying.
  • Please pay attention during slotting. Some people will be genuinely AFK, but it's unfair on hosts to rely on them to call your name when you're the last person without a slot. We may have to leave those people behind in order not to delay the other 40 guests.
Folk has always been optimistic about guests' working to ensure each other's enjoyment, and in 2 years of sessions the guests have always been great. Your help here is always appreciated.
