INDFOR comprehensively out-smarted, out-maneuvered and eventually slaughtered OPFOR in opening adversarial, Internecine II. I was part of the OPFOR force that was first pinned by INDFOR base-of-fire element from an elevated position, then hand-grenaded to death by its companion maneuver element. Really, really well done! The adversarial spirit continued, as we took 57 comrades into a round of GooseChase. As ever, we'll have to wait until others post their AARs to understand what the hell happened, but as OPFOR ASL I can tell you that it was the first time I'd attempted to defend the castle at Zub. Still have no idea how the second wave of BLUFOR troops made it into our perimeter, but perhaps we were all distracted by the circling helos. Next up, we slotted practically every last role in Finale XL, chalking up our first comprehensive victory. It was epic, but of course now we'll need to write a new mission in which everyone is supposed to die! Crash Site marked a return to more adversarial excitement (it was impossible to resist, given our superb playercount), during which all sorts of frantic helicopter shenanigans took place and comrade Bodge murderised a whole fireteam of enemies in the woods. Since comrade Ferrard is still being held by negotiators (and we don't negotiate with terrorists), we honoured his memory and rolled straight into his classic mission, Outpost Bean. And murderised it. Many of the platoon making it to safety in boats, although I couldn't save the tractor. Finally, we endured comrade SuperU's pre-parachute nerves to tumble out of a C-130 and use strange, HS/LD AK-copies in comrade Housemaster's vintage classic, Czech Mate. The fireteam I was in killed the enemy officer, and comrades Kale and Iceraiser drove a captured vehicle to the extraction point. Whereupon it exploded in a fireball.
As ever, please post your thoughts, feedback, screenshots and video here - comrade YouTube Hero SuperU's FA doesn't just produce our video idents, but provides leadership and guidance to propaganda artists; more guidance on video editing for Folk ARPS is provided by comrade Ferrard Carson. Posts in the AAR threads really helps us (the hosts and mission makers), both with understanding how we can improve the experiences, and showing potential comrades what our sessions are like.
SPECIAL NOTE
The one area where the Party would really appreciate more help is the slotting of leadership roles. Too often, there's a horribly long silence when the host calls for COs, SLs and FTLs ... or the same faces (many of them hosts) taking such roles. If you're afraid of failure, don't be - getting everyone killed is totally fine. Plus, we run weekly workshops where you can learn the skills required to march comrades into machinegun fire. If you're capable of leading - but simply can't be bothered - please try and take such a role in at least one mission per session; if that's the only way you contribute to FA, that would still be greatly valued by the Party.
PS
This is what comrade Headspace and I were making references to in Finale XL (and why you'll nearly always see UN IFVs with the 'gong' callsign in our missions):
