Quite a boutique session tonight with a peak of 33 players, damn you nice weather!
Missions:
  • Fall of Aziz - The great colonel aziz recovers his golden AK, unfortunatly comerade iceraiser staged a coup in which aziz and his command staff all died!
  • Elsafi defense - First time CO dancemoox stands valiantly to the last man against the opfor hordes!
  • foxhound - **********CLASSIFIED**********
  • Colo - All the COs come together for a secret police meeting to discuss the going on of foxhound, only to be attacked by crazed gang members. Unfortunately for the gang members comrade head had his shotgun on hand and took 7 crazed men down with him.

    After Party
  • Utes clearance - Forces attack island, Forces died attacking island.
  • Jolly Green x2 - On both runs the stranded ground crew got completely surrounded by russians and got murdered for stepping on "their lawn".
  • Police raid (or something)
Spetsnaz forces attempt to raid a lumber yard. It pretty much went like this!

A clip from Moon Moon's first time as CO. The plan was good, we held them as long as we could. Was a pretty even fight right to the end where only two remained.

Fall of Aziz - Dr Hladic Colonel Aziz's Personal Unlicenced Chiropractor

Colonel Dogface Aziz was attened to by both myself the most excellent spinal adjustment specialist in all of Dustysandcountrystan and the ongoing PTSD suffering Unit Psychologist Super U. Somehow I had missed the camouflage of the day memo and found myself on the battlefield in my lab coat, being quite conspicuous. I stick with the Colonel awaiting my chance to take a bullet for him as we crossed open fields between cover. Some fire went over head and members of Alpha had been wounded, I made my way to them and healed up the wounded along with Super before returning to the great Colonel. We eventually made our way towards buildings cleared by Bravo, Super spotted movement beyond the cleared buildings and we went to investigate Super clearing right myself left, with the enemy dealt with I returned to Dogface to lead him towards the newly cleared buildings, announcing his arrival with a 'make way for the Colonel' the fireteam sheltering within were quickly booted out and continued to fight. It was around this point I remembered I wasn't a real doctor and the universal medical licensing authority revoked my first aid ability -despite repeated gear drops- I fetched aid for the downed Super and healed him up before crossing the street to Iceraiser to heal up his ammo assistant. Pace picked up and I fired my first shots towards a crowd of civilians standing around an armed truck, in my eyes they were declared hostile by the ROE, and at any rate I'm less of a war criminal than some not looking at anyone... With our connecting flight leaving without us we made a dash for the gunshop to collect the gold AK, we found the driver dead within and with my revoked medical licence I dared not get close to remove his corpse, with the command element loaded inside the limo Iceraiser showed his true colours and activated his inevitable betrayal. Sensing the danger I escaped the vehicle before the RPG was fired, I ran around the compound and managed to wound him badly with my Enfield but my death was assured as was his as all the medical staff were now dead :zoidberg:

Elsafi defense - Indifor CO

We shall hold this village to the last man and in the end the last man was me!

I set about placing areas of observation for A1, 2 and 3 as well as two possible murderous fire locations for MMG, the south was covered west to east by A1, 2 then 3 with MMG held back on the rocky hillside. And so we waited, and waited, I selected my Moon Base of Operations and began to hear sightings of the enemy, first MMG then A3 had eyes, I ordered a hold fire until they were closer as they crept in MMG let rip with a murderous song of the Super U people, a loud and proud song but all too short. A3 opened up but were soon dying quickly. I tried to raise A1 but to no response, by this time the medic I had dispatched to MMG was held up in a building alone under siege, A2 were inflicting casualties and taking some themselves and A1 had undertaken a flanking maneuver without direct Moon Moon authorisation :commissar:

With our numbers dwindling to four then three all friendly forces made progress to the Moon Bunker for the final stand, I observed an enemy darting west and found him standing bolt upright by a tree, a single well placed GP round killed him but my precious building took some inaccurate fire. The remaining defenders eventually fell down to two, myself and Iceraiser. I remained within my building directing Ice to the movement sounds I heard around my building, with one enemy remaining he died of his wounds, enraged I departed my building on the hunt for the enemy. Having seen a brief glimpse of him traveling north east I made my way to cut him off, I found him half way down between a building and a wall, leaning out I fired wounding him and becoming wounded myself. If my tribe can't have the village neither can the enemy, moontually assured destruction!

Foxhound - Indifor Mad Bomber Moon Moon

Declassified intercepts from Indiefor read as follows: "....regardless of RPG direct strike on Opfor Heli - scattered improvised explosive devices around the LZ would have inflicted heavy casualties upon the attacking forces on landing.."

Colo -Officer Moon Moon

I made myself mobile within the construction site, shot someone before they'd even reached the construction site, shot and possibly wounded the Officer Dogface attacker, moved up a floor and killed another gang member moving past the Precinct towards me. I'm told someone in Indi called the construction site clear, I laugh at your drug addled clearance

After Party
Utes clearance - IFV Driver.

1:07 onwards sums up the first five or six minutes of painfully slow swimming. Once on land we took an RPG to the front, killed the git that fired it and suppressed the bejesus out of other contact. When repaired we set off east taking part in the advance, coming up the hill slowly view going from hillside to sky to 'Initiating Spectator Script', we were blown up terribly by an angry something.

Jolly Green - x2 AR

First run we set off I heard then spotted the local ruffians arriving in an armed Vodnik, I called contact fired and was wounded, then everyone was, then everyone including me was dead.

Second run! Off we went north and rain into 7000 angry men with guns, I killed three with 200 rounds of shaky wounded firing. Eventually our only escape was killed, the PTSD :psypop:

Police Raid Strange Moscow Files Edition

This is one of the strange missions Cam found for a V+ session a few weeks back, its got everything you need in a community mission, gear up at briefing and confused Alpha Bravo and Charlie starting points. Hilarity and metric fuckton of enemy shooting and dying and nightmares happened..

Sorry for screwing up Foxhound for all of us, pretty much. I see myself being pretty much responsible for that because I gave the go-ahead to shoot up a heli with an RPG (that was, unknowingly, full of people still). I'll just say it outright that this was not the plan and it is never fun to shoot a helicopter full of people because it's not a challenge. But based on several things I was pretty sure the helicopter was empty besides the pilot and that it was not a huge loss to the mission if we shot it down. I've had people tell me that the helicopter has landed and dropped off troops already, and I trusted that. Secondly, the helicopter was going relatively slow but not descending, which I didn't really judge too much at that point because I've already got people telling me they've got a perfect RPG shot. So I'm sitting there thinking, well, they dropped them off already, and I don't see a loss in the pilot only dying.. Like, that's just the game, I guess. So I give the go-ahead for it, and well, we know how that ended. I was pretty clueless to the fact that there were actually still people in there up until the point where it went up in a fireball.

So yeah, sorry for ruining Foxhound that day guys.

Don't worry about it, at least you are able to realize what went wrong! Just food for thought, it can be quite hard for a host when something like this happens because you are effectively responsible for everybody's enjoyment and when something screws that up its quite stressful! Anyway don't think about it any further, what happens in session stays in session!

Fall of Aziz: I ended up having to join B1 because everyone else was very dead.

Elsafi defense: Opfor A3 FTL - I wondered why Kale was lagging behind, but we have to be considerate to our Southern hemisphere comrades who have to play the game in the morning and upside down. A3 was set to flank North of the town, and it soon became clear that the enemy HMG was straight on our path up the hill, but we were in perfect defilade for the whole climb as it opened up on other elements. By the time we reached the peak, it had been disasembled, and scampered off somewhere else. We engaged infantry around a close building, and I occupied it to make sure a contact on the upper floor was dead (but it's so hard to see anything at all). Eventually, I was in command and was stumped about how to continue. I should have asked the remaining five of us to fold into the same fire team.

Foxhound: Opfor Alpha-something-or-other (it didn't matter). Penney decided to just call me Croc, and I've been thinking about shortening it to that. I picked my Arma profile name during a week while I was reading heavily about the spotted hyena (species name: Crocuta Crocuta). They are a fascinating mammal, with wounds that don't often get infected (making them easy to keep in zoos (not that people are that interested)), natural resistance to anthrax (badass), their frontal lobes are large in proportion to the rest of their brains to deal with living in a hierarchy of upwards of 40 other hyenas. They are one of few completely matriarchal mammals, which I've heard some feminists cheer at until they learn that all of the females are loaded with testosterone and have pseudo-penises. I could go on and on and on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAI3fVieUXQ

Anyway, my name is now Croc. Even I hate having to say "Crocuta".

Cholo: Indfor Alpha - I get into Bodge's car. He says "if you're riding with me it probably won't end well". We drive to the police station. I get out of the vehicle...

Utes Clearance: MMG - Mr. Egg ferried us all the way around the coast too close to one of our objectives. I bailed and swam to shore, hiding behind a huge rock. I died after paddling around the shore looking for my MG.

I would like to try that again with more organisation and more people. I don't think the difficulty should be reduced until we try it like that.

Jolly Green: Corpsman x2 - I was running around the woods, collecting huge red flowers. Yay  I couldn't for the life of me tell what those cracking noises were, though.

Hi Croc! :D I'm called Pr3sario due to my never ending laziness in choosing my gamertag...

Fall of Aziz: Alpha 1 AR, Head FTL, Tryteker AT, Hippo AAR. Draakon Alpha SL
Mission started out nice. We could hear gunfire in the distance, but such is the life of Aziz's private death squad military corps. Alpha was sent to the front, and hold at a dirt road with minimal cover in the form of trees and very small rocks. First contact was made by your's truly, when I spotted an enemy rifleman near a corrugated barn and shot him dead. A heavy firefight broke out, and A-1 was pinned down behind a small stone fence, separated from the rest of Alpha.

My FTL was killed in action here, and I was given a battlefield promotion to Alpha 1 fireteam leader. I reformed the group after a short panic, just in time for us to be given orders to move up. We hopped the fence, and ran through enemy fire, and I lost my AT in the confusion.

Alpha found ourselves holed up in a small compound to the southeast of the village, and I found me and Hippo on defense duty, watching west. An entire EI squad advanced towards us from the town, but I managed to single hand-idly hold them off, taking about seven of them down. :clint:

Before I could continue my rampage, Draakon ordered us south. I expressed misgivings, fearing that we might be flanked by the squad I had been firing on, but I was told to ignore it.

After moving to another compound, we were ambushed, and all the Alpha Fireteam leaders were dead, and only Draakon remained of our leadership. We join him in a glorious Alpha fireteam, and pushed into the town.

Only a minute later, we hit heavy fire, and Draakon was downed, and I found myself forced to take on the fireteam leader role, while Bodge took on the role of SL. We started bounding forward, but we were soon overwhelmed by EI. I found myself separated from the team, and I ran into a market, where I saw at least 4 EI hiding among a group of around 15 civilians. Panicked, I switched to full auto, and I mowed down the group.

:siiigh:

Moments later, I heard news that our glorious leader Aziz was dead, killed by the traitor Iceraiser. Knowing that even if I survived the fight, I'd never survive my court martial/trial by the ICC, I shot myself in the head.

Final total, 15 EI killed, and 8 dead civilians.

My warcrime actually sorta freaked me out for the rest of the day, and I was unable to focus. I know it's just a game and all, but it disturbed me that I was so willing to fire into a crowd of civilians with an RPK... :psyduck:

Elsafi Defense: Opfor Alpha 2 AR, Draakon FTL, don’t recall the rest
We started off advancing from the southeast, trying to hide behind the ridgeline. We got shot at by an emplaced HMG, I returned fire, and hid behind some rocks while Alpha 3 dealt with it. Then A2 gloriously charged into the village, and got destroyed by comrade Head.

Foxhound (or how I discovered Crocuta’s secret fascination with Hyenas): Opfor Alpha blah blah
Me, Penney, and Croc talked about stuff while messing with animations. We tried to get the rest of Alpha in on a game, but they were boring. I found out that Crocuta was the name and genus of a species of Hyena, and then we lost.

Cholo: Vuvezela player
I rocked out on my bong vuvezela as we charged police HQ. I got shot by Head, then we won. Seems to be a bit of a pattern here huh?

Utes Clearance: Blufor Alpha 2 FTL
We stormed the beach heads, and we got shot. Alpha died before I even knew what happened, and I spent the rest of the time as the MAT rifleman. Me and Penney led the MAT force almost to the POW camp, but we were ambushed by Russians, and we were wiped out.
